Another fabulous customer review, this time from Tom @merlotandbehold who tried our @delaterrewinery Chardonnay Barrique Ferment 2016, Reserve Chardonnay 2016, and the Reserve Syrah 2016.
“With such a wide range I decided to start with some of the regions more well know grape varieties, opting for two Chardonnays – the Reserve (£28) and Barrique Ferment (£24) – and the Reserve Syrah (£28). I was blown away by the quality of all three, but the Chardonnays in particular were outstanding. When you think of what you’d pay for similar quality from places like Burgundy these are an absolute steal.”
Thanks, Tom and we can’t wait to hear what you make of the reds and fizz. Cheers!

We’re happy to see our incredibly popular @delaterrewinery Viognier 2014 at @thebullfreehouse in Troston, Suffolk. We love to see the wines being enjoyed in your homes or at venues around the UK.
We’re delighted to be the exclusive importer into the UK for @delaterrewinery and we hope you enjoy following the journey.
Some style notes & key points:
An elegant and refined Viognier – fresh, crisp and clean with hints of minerality showcasing the limestone terroir of the vineyard. Bone dry.
The aim with our winemaking was to direct the wine away from the typically fat / opulent mid-palate and replace it with a tighter and more linear structure. Hand picking and gentle pressing was the key to this – along with retaining natural acidity to keep the wine fresh and ‘alive’.
Visit our website or send us a DM for more information.
Pinot Noir 2016 – Central Hawke’s Bay
A ripe and juicy Pinot Noir.
Pinot Noir flourishes at Lime Rock due to cooler climate, altitude and limestone soils. A range of flavours and complexity are found in the wines, because of graduation in soil depth down the slope, different aspects of hills, along with nine different clones, including Burgundia.
Handpicked with sweetness, balance, flavour, colour, condition of the grapes and the vines. From the top of hills, often part rows are picked, returning when flavour improves.
Aged for eight months in premium French oak, including coopers Mercurey, Dargaud and Jaegle and Francois Frere. 18% of the wine in one and 2 year-old oak barriques.
The best principles of winemaking maintain and enhance the aromas, flavours, structure and texture of the wine. The vineyard is certified sustainable and managed following ecological processes.
DM for more information or contact us via our website.
Sauvignon Blanc 2015 - Central Hawke’s Bay
Complex, pure, refreshing, inviting and youthful bouquet. Aromas and flavours of citrus, yellow and white orchard fruits, a saline and mineral core, leesy textures and salivating acid line. The texture of this wine is as interesting and intriguing as the core of fruit and varietal reminders of sweet herb and tropical fruit.
For those who are interested in style notes and key points, read on:
An excellent growing year gives an elegant, detailed. bright wine with a salty citrus line.
Limestone, loess, volcanic- ash soils, with altitude from 230-270 metres and variations in terrain makes our vineyard special.
Grown at different altitudes and soil depths, picked at different ripeness, giving a range of flavours.
Low yields and carefully handpicked fruit is rare these days for Sauvignon.
Cool fermentation to retain the exotic aromas, followed by lees stirring for texture.
Best principles of winemaking maintain and enhance the aromas, flavours, structure, and texture of the wine. Vineyard is certified sustainable and managed following ecological processes.

We hope you all enjoyed a lovely festive period and drank some great wines. We love to read reviews of the @delaterrewinery wines, which we import from Hawke’s Bay into the UK.
Katie @endofthewine paired the 2016 Reserve Chardonnay with a delicious roast chicken over the festive period and says:
“The complexity and quality of this wine is quite outstanding. Great body, lovely integrated oak bringing notes of toasted coconut and vanilla. Lemon curd. Yeasty, nutty, smooth and buttery. Good food wine. It totally stood on its own as well as complementing the food. Gimme more.”
Thank you Katie.

Our fantastic secret sommelier, who has personally tasted, reviewed and ultimately signed off on each and every wine that Synergy Wines offers said this about de la terre.
“Back in 2014, Word of mouth led us to discovering the sensational wines of de la Terre.
Being a Sommelier for a high-profile restaurant in the UK, opportunities like this do not pass by easily.
Without a doubt, we clearly had to visit! Then, having tasted the entire de la terre range with the winemaker, Tony Prichard, I can only say that our minds were blown away by the quality of his wines. I’m talking about the wow factor that has a lasting impression.
When I close my eyes now, I can still “taste” the 2013 Reserve Chardonnay that Tony generously poured. My wife had to come and find me after hours of tasting and fed us Pizza, made by Tony’s wife Kaye, so we could power on with tasting more wines and continue analysing and discussing every aspect of how each was made.”
Top Quality with Provenance, sums up what our wines stand for.
With de la terre wines you are purchasing a passion and craftsmanship not often seen in modern winemaking.
Sadly over commercialisation has occurred in the industry but we truly offer something unique.
All de la terre wines barring the estate wines are individually hand numbered for the vintage. These wines make a fantastic gift for any occasion, or simply turning up to a dinner party with a bottle of de la terre wine has a wow factor.
We truly believe in the product and one day it will be a a household name. Be ahead of the curve.

Perhaps it was fate that led me to chatting with Harriet in the summer but it didn’t take long for me to realise that there was Synergy (excuse the pun) between the situations we were in. Harriet was keen to enter the world of wines professionally, and I was looking for the right individual to develop Synergy Wines with 100% focus. Harriet has real enthusiasm for wines, and also a great way of presenting her thoughts, she is a little bit of an Instagram celebrity to boot.
We both share the same desire to develop Synergy Wines into an approachable and quality driven wine supplier to private and on trade customers. We want to get to know our clients and ultimately deliver fantastic quality wines from producers who fit the same bill of our flagship wine produced by Tony @delaterrewinery. There exists a vast amount of fantastic wine producers in the world, but the word Provenance sums up our sourcing methods, the dictionary definition of provenance is – a record of ownership of a work of art, used as a guide to authenticity and quality, or as Tony puts it “owning what’s in the glass”
Tony’s passion and craftsmanship led me to begin this journey with Synergy Wines, you simply need one sip to realise what de la terre is all about. I myself am new to the industry, but Synergy Wines’ goal is firstly to bring Tony’s magnificent wines to glasses up and down the UK, but ultimately develop and grow over time to add more producers that fit the “superb quality with provenance” mantra.
Welcome to the team Harriet @bobellsbubbles
Hi, to all Synergy Wines awesome followers. I’m Tom, the owner and founder of Synergy Wines.
I would like to introduce myself and tell you how the business came to fruition.
I have been involved in the world of fresh produce all my life, and ever since I was a toddler the smell of Apple & Pears in cold storage has captivated me. As well as the recently formed Synergy Wines, I own another business called Fruit Vision specialising in Apple & Pears. I have a global network of suppliers and contacts, in the best apple growing regions which are often a stone’s throw from magnificent wine producing areas. As a school leaver I imagined one day having businesses in numerous sectors, Fruit, Wine and natural medicine.
My reputation and experience gained within the Hawke’s Bay region of New Zealand - along with a close friend’s awareness of my desire to enter the world of wine imports - led to an introduction to a fantastic couple, Tony & Kaye Prichard of @delaterrewinery. After 15 years as Chief winemaker at Church Road, Tony setup his own special winery. I was nothing short of awestruck by the passion Tony had for his whole operation and it was immediately clear that a fantastic opportunity lay ahead.
So, I placed a small order and decided to make some enquiries into the world of wine. An exciting year of meeting various individuals across the industry followed. The wines were met with an exceptional response, forcing my hand to bring in more varietals and start Synergy Wines.
We currently have 15 show-stopping wines from de la terre as well as two brilliant wines in our own brand “de la vigne” which is produced by Lime Rock.
To grow the business and develop it in the right way is going to take hard work, enthusiasm and ultimately time.
I am delighted to welcome Harriet @bobellsbubbles to join Synergy wines in a Business Development role. A bright spark like Harriet is exactly what the business needs to start to forge its way in the industry.
If you made it this far, thank you very much for reading. I hope you have a fantastic weekend filled with love, laughter and plenty of wine.
At Synergy Wines we have a focus – a devotion not just to quality, but to wines that have a personality. Wines that are born rather than manufactured. Head to our website to see our exclusive range! 🔥

Secret Sommelier comments:-
A sophisticated Blanc de Blancs made from carefully selected Chardonnay with numerous passes through the vineyard. Produced in the traditional method without shortcuts. The mousse is elegant, soft and creamy giving way to apple, citrus, stone fruits and brioche. The flavours are carried nicely by the persistent acidity, the finish is long.
It’s time to celebrate - Synergy wines webshop is live!!!
It is then, so fitting that the final showcase of wines currently available is the wonderful Champagne beating Blanc de Blancs.

Secret Sommelier comments:-
A lively sparkling wine made from gently pressed Chardonnay grapes. Produced in the traditional method without shortcuts. The wine is bottled, aged on the lees for 24 months then hand disgorged without the addition of sugar (dosage), followed by hand labelling. A handmade, everyday fizz with refreshing granny smith apples, citrus and stone fruit on the palate finishing on a light biscuity character.
